The Summer Enrichment at Dartmouth (SEAD) program empowers promising high school students from under-resourced backgrounds to thrive in high school and college, Through its summer program featuring specially designed courses, year-round mentoring in partner high schools, and extensive interactions with successful college students, SEAD encourages academic preparedness and personal growth for its high school students, The program seeks an AmeriCorps*VISTA member to serve as a College Support Intern to, through collaboration with current program staff, create and implement a comprehensive plan for supporting current and future SEAD alumni. This work will fall into three broad categories: (1) Student Support, (2) Networking and Relationship Building, and (3) Data and Evaluation, and will seek to ensure greater college support and success for SEAD alumni.
Great Bay Community College
Portsmouth, NH
GBCC is recruiting for a VISTA to help foster college access community partnerships between GBCC and the Greater Seacoast. The VISTA would be responsible for managing the Wildcat Youth Mentors program and the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. The VISTA would also be responsible for helping GBCC students identify college access volunteer opportunities in the community.
River Valley Community College
Claremont, NH
This VISTA position at River Valley Community College offers an opportunity to address a need in students who come to the college under-prepared for math and English language literacy. Approximately 85 percent of the total population of students are assessed, using Accuplacer in math and English reading and sentence skills, at below college level skills and must take some form of developmental level courses before then can move on to math, science, and/or English courses. Alstead Primary School, which sits near the center of the college’s service region and directly between the Claremont and Keene locations, has been identified as a “School in Need of Improvement” by the state of New Hampshire. These children and their families are part of the population who come to the college, under-prepared and otherwise, for higher educational opportunities at River Valley Community College.
Nashua Community College
Nashua, NH
The VISTA will work with the Associate VP of Academic Affairs to develop partnerships and programs designed to promote student access and success for low income students. The position will work closely with community agencies in Nashua to develop service learning projects that engage low income students in the greater Nashua area. The VISTA will also work to develop and strengthen relationships between Nashua Community College and agencies that serve the growing Latino population in the greater Nashua area. In addition, the VISTA will create opportunities for faculty and students to engage in promote youth participation in civic- engagement activities and develop other programming related to student access and success.

Maine Campus Compact is inviting 2 faculty members from NH interested in providing online service-learning courses to be part of their Fusion Project. The Fusion Project aims to integrate service-learning and online learning. It offers a 2 week online course teaching faculty how to infuse service-learning components into online courses to give students hands on, real-world experience to strengthen learning, create connections the larger community, and improve retention. Carnegie Classification Application Resources

Here is a resource for you to consider:
1. Register Now for the Peer Development Network-- The Eastern Region Campus Compact is pleased to announce to all campuses a 10-session Peer Development Network to support campuses in determining whether the Carnegie Classification is attainable for them, structuring their self-study processes, and addressing challenges encountered throughout the application process.
Registration: Campuses pay one registration fee for the 10 sessions ($150 for Campus Compact members; $450 for non-Campus Compact members) that covers up to six individuals per campus. Registration is open to all campuses in any state. For more information and to register, visit http://erccpdn.weebly.com/index.html. Please register by Friday, May 3, 2013 to ensure full participation in all phases of the series. Registrations received after May 3 will be accepted on a case by case basis only. No registrations will be accepted after July 1, 2013.
The Peer Development Network (PDN) creates a cohort environment among participating campuses. The PDN will be guided through three phases to support their Carnegie Classification application:
• Phase 1: Content Webinars National leaders will explain of the application framework, feasible assessment methods, and model application processes. These webinars are timed so that participants can make informed decisions about whether to apply before Carnegie’s application window concludes.

• Phase 3: Ongoing State-Focused Support (mid October 2013 through Carnegie application deadline, April 2014)– ERCC State Compact directors hold Q & A sessions and field requests for help.
