See the Full Agenda for Compact22: A Better Way Forward

February 5, 2022

The full agenda for Campus Compact’s upcoming Compact22 national virtual conference is now available online. Compact22–with the theme “A Better Way Forward: Innovation with Equity at the Center”–will take place over the course of three days, March 29–31, 2022. It will feature engaging, interactive sessions focused on civic engagement, community-engaged research, civic- and service-learning, institutional change, university-community partnerships, and more.

Compact22 will offer learning and networking opportunities with faculty, staff, senior administrators, students, and community partners. These higher education stakeholders are dedicated to the common goal of harnessing the power of higher education to achieve a more equitable tomorrow.

Conference Structure

Compact22 will feature a wide variety of online interactive sessions, with plenty of opportunities for discussion and networking. Three packed days will include roundtable discussions, knowledge-to-action workshops, breakout sessions, lightning talks, and a watch party for pre-recorded sessions with time for questions and conversation.

Keynote Address

Compact22 keynote speaker Bettina Love
Compact22 Keynote Speaker Dr. Bettina Love

The keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. Bettina Love, an award-winning author and the Athletic Association Endowed Professor of Education at the University of Georgia. Her writing, teaching, research, and education advocacy meet at the intersection of education reform, anti-racism, carceral studies, abolition, and Black joy. Dr. Love’s address, “Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom,” will explore the struggles and the possibilities of committing ourselves to an abolitionist goal of educational freedom.

New Session Added!

In “Standing Up for Democracy,” Campus Compact Board Chair and President of James Madison University Jon Alger will talk with Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn, who stood up to insurrectionists on the January 6th attack on the Capitol. Hear from Dunn (and ask questions) as he speaks about the importance of protecting and further strengthening our democracy.

Compact22 On Demand

Most Compact22 sessions will be recorded, with session recordings made available on demand shortly after the conference. Access to recordings is reserved exclusively for registered conference guests.
