Symposium for Food Security
May 23 @ 9:45 am - 2:00 pmFree
Food Security is a growing concern for college communities across the country. Hunger impacts learning outcomes and retention rates for low-income students. This symposium will convene teams from New Hampshire campuses to take action and provide the inspiration, expertise, and resources needed for higher-education institutions to create and implement hunger-related strategies.
Ellen Groll Liponis is the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Food Bank. After many years in finance, Eileen pursued her MBA at UNH’s Center for Venture Research and went on to run a business accelerator at Pease International Tradeport. When her oldest daughter enrolled in an arts integrated public charter school she realized that all charter schools needed advocacy and support and founded The New Hampshire Public Charter School Association. This mission driven work led her to the helm of the Food Bank where she is working with partners and supporters to discuss the civic architecture of food flow in New Hampshire .
