Nominations for the 2022–2023 Newman Civic Fellowship are now open! The nomination process will remain open through February 1, 2022. The Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes and supports community-committed students who are changemakers and public problem-solvers at Campus Compact member institutions. Fellows are nominated by their president or chancellor on the basis of their potential for public leadership. Campus Compact is accepting nominations for member faculty, staff, and administrators to become Engaged Scholars for 2022–2023. The Engaged Scholars initiative is designed to develop a diverse group of early-career faculty and staff to strengthen their own community-engaged scholarship and lead equity-focused change within their institution and communities. This year’s Engaged Scholars cohort will consist of 20 individuals from Campus Compact member institutions across the country. Campus Compact has appointed Bobbie Laur as its next national president, effective February 15, 2022. Laur currently serves as associate vice president for outreach at Towson University as well as executive director of the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU). CCNH Wins National Service Grant
The Service Year Alliance has awarded Campus Compact for New Hampshire (CCNH) one of four 2021 National Service Community Challenge Grants. The grants are designed to help community collaboratives attract sustainable funding for programs that use national service to address local needs. The $100,000 in grant funding is spread among just a handful of organizations across the country. A Sustainable Infrastructure for School Readiness CCNH will use grant and matching funds to help build a national service infrastructure in the rural northernmost counties of New Hampshire. 2021 Rural College Access and Success Summit Reaches New Heights
The 2021 Rural College Access and Success Summit, held April 26–30, was a huge success, with participants from around the country tuning into the online event. CCNH was pleased to co-host the summit with Partners for Education, an initiative of CCNH member campus Berea College.
